From Gershwin to Sondheim, From Bacharach to Lennon,  And Beyond!

Join us at the JCC in Sherman for a special live outdoor concert on Sunday, August 2nd at 6:30PM. Voice students Shaun Mangold, Sadie Baimel and Barbara Kessler are eager to share with you a lovely evening of song, there’s something for everyone! Come join us for this Summer treat of an intimate outdoor concert, nestled amongst the tall trees in Sherman. 

Shaun Mangold (vocals and guitar) is a local singer/songwriter from Newtown, Ct. Shaun can often be found performing at various restaurants and bars in the area. Shaun’s setlist is an eclectic selection of hit songs from every decade, with some of his originals included in the mix. For Shaun performing music is all about having fun and expressing himself! Sadie Baimel, an 8th grader at Newtown Middle School has been studying voice with Jackie Gaudet for 5 years. She has also studied dance for 10 years at The Graceful Planet and tap at LMDA for 2 years. She has performed in several school plays and in 8 musical theater productions through Sabrina’s Encore Productions. Her favorite roles have been Gertrude in Seussical, Jr. and Miss Hannigan in Annie, Jr. She truly loves music, singing and performing, and is excited to be performing tonight. Barbara Kessler has been studying voice with Jackie Gaudet for almost 20 years. She performs with several area community theater groups in plays, musicals and cabaret productions. She also sings and plays guitar at worship services at Temple Shalom in New Milford. She is a biology teacher at Brookfield High School and used to work as a veterinarian. All performers are students from Jackie Gaudet’s Voice Studio: #111 Church Hill Rd in Sandy Hook, (203) 947-2663

This event is free, donations welcome and open to everyone in the community. There are a limited number of available spots, due to covid so reservations must be made online ahead of time. For health and safety purposes there is a list of new reopening rules for outdoor events which is posted below.. Don’t forget to bring your mask and a chair!
