We are happy to announce that this event is a go and is to be held outdoors! Seating will still be limited to allow everyone to safely social distant. We kindly ask you to purchase tickets online. There will no tickets sold at the door to allow for minimal contact.


TJ Thompson Quintet is back at the JCC in Sherman for another Jazz Night honoring the great Benny Carter! The band has been active since 2014 performing in various clubs and pits in musical theaters throughout Connecticut. Winner of the IMEA Jazz Artist of the Year for their recent album Take Two: The Sound of Playing, this group plays a combination of originals along with the Soul, Blues, and Jazz of New Orleans, Memphis, and beyond

For the safety of staff, volunteers and performers, all attendees will be required to wear masks.

The JCC in Sherman  Re-Opening New Rules for Events Outdoors

These new rules are put into place to keep everyone safe. Please read the following rules:

  1. If you would like to attend any of our events, you will be required to purchase your tickets online before arriving at the event. We will not be selling any tickets at the door. This allows for the safety of our staff and volunteers and allows for minimal contact. Tickets must be purchased by 12PM the day of the event.

  2. We will be limiting the event to 30 tickets.

  3. Everyone is required to their own chairs.

  4. Everyone is to continue to practice social distancing of 6-feet apart. 

  5. Everyone is required to be wearing their masks (that covers nose and mouth) at all times. You will not be admitted without one.

  6. Those musicians who are performing must bring their own equipment to use. At this time the JCCS will not be allowing the use of in house equipment. 

  7. Musicians/performers may remove their masks while performing but must remain 12 feet away from each other and attendees. 

  8. The JCCS restrooms will be open however only one person is allowed in the restrooms at a time to allow for proper social distancing. Everyone will be required to keep their masks on when entering the building and must wear gloves. Those needing to use the restroom must wait outside the building if it is currently occupied. There will be wait time in between each use as well.  

  9. A staff member or volunteer will make sure these rules are followed. No attendees will be allowed in the building unless it is to use the restroom. There will be a one way system for entering and exiting. Those needing to use the bathroom will enter through the front door and exit the building through the side door next to the bathrooms. 

  10. People are allowed to bring their own food/drink for our outdoor events only. Please be respectful and dispose of all trash in trash bins.

  11. The JCCS will not be selling any snacks or beverages.

  12. If you are feeling sick at all, please stay home. We want to keep our staff, volunteers and attendees safe. 

  13. These new rules are put in place for the safety of everyone and will be required to be followed by all. Your health is important to us all. 

Please note these rules can be updated at any time. All events will follow CDC and the State of Connecticut guidelines for social distancing and rules for events and programs. Please note these rules/guidelines can be updated and changed based on CDC & state requirements.
