One-Of-A-Kind Concert Series (notyouraverageconcert.com) Moves To A Larger Venue To Accomodate Concert-Goer Demand!
NEW MILFORD, Conn - June. 08, 2018 - 19 Main is the new location of the popular Songwriters Series concerts that launched in New Milford in May. The third show of the series will take place on June 29th from 7-9pm.
“We were standing room only at our first two concerts” says the host, Corey Durkin. “We have to move to a larger venue to fit everyone who wants to attend. The community has embraced the concept of the shows and interest in the series continues to grow!”
The response has certainly been exuberant with one concert-goer commenting that “this was the best concert I’ve been to since Simon and Garfunkel in Central Park!”
The new venue for the concert series is 19 Main, formerly the old bank building on the corner of Bank Street and Main Street, an historic and elegant new events venue on the green in New Milford.
“I’m so enthused by our community’s response to the first concert,” says Durkin, a native of New Milford and the founder and host of the Songwriters Series. “I am so proud to say that we’ve created an intensely personal and intimate experience where we select the most talented and creative performers to grace our stage.”
The Songwriters Series is a fresh, curator-led approach to live music that promises to deliver high-quality performances with its unique format of improvisation and venue for artistic expression.
At each concert, two singer/songwriters share the stage and trade songs throughout a two-hour show. In between songs, Durkin encourages the performers to share the stories behind their music and explain the details of their writing process, giving the audience a chance to connect with the performers.
While the Songwriters Series offers a place for families to gather to enjoy the music, the series is also a great idea for date night. “It can be tough to find really unique and exciting things to do in our state,” Durkin says. “Our team is incredibly excited about having created an environment where couples can come to hear the quality of music that they’d normally have to travel to Manhattan to hear and where kids can be inspired by great musicians to pick up an instrument or continue on their own musical journey.”
Durkin has one request for the show’s attendees - “Get here early if you want a good seat…because we expect another sell-out crowd!”
The concert series returns on June 29th from 7-9pm at 19 Main in New Milford. Tickets are free and priority seating reservations can be made by going to notyouraverageconcert.com.
